1. Be consistent with your exercise routine. At the least, it should be three days a week of 20mins minimum cardio. However, to get your metabolism faster...exercise for more than 30minutes. (I work out for 1-2 hours)
2. Monitor your caloric intake. You may be vegetarian, but that doesn't mean much if you have a high caloric intake (my old roommate used to load up on carbs, and was eating 2,300 calories a day even though she was a vegetarian)
3. Drink LOTS of water. (6-8 glasses) It cleanses the system and helps with metabolism as well.
4. This doesn't work for everyone but it worked for me...eat three or four SMALL meals a day rather than one or two big meals. It gives energy throughout the day, speeds metabolism (so they say), and it makes you feel less hungry throughout the day so you're less likely to indulge.
5. As far as the layer of fat over your abs...two things and only two things 1- exercise and 2- sit ups (making sure to exercise all different abdominal zones).

And remember...it takes time...your body is still changing, so maybe you'll grow into those 10 lbs.

Good luck...and remember you're perfect the way you are

You need to workout if you want to lose the weight. While dance classes can be a great workout, depending on what type of dance class it is, you should also add in more cardio the rest of the week. Running is good, but so is speed walking, jogging, treadmills and ellipticals. If you add in a little weight resistance training, it will help boost your weight loss.
To help get rid of "belly flab", daily crunches will help keep you toned. If you have a resistance ball you can do crunches on those to really work your muscles. And vary your crunch workout everyday also (regular crunches one day, side crunches another day). Do 100 a day, at the same time to get the best results.

It's good that you have a realistic weight loss number. Most people say they want to lose XX amount of weight, but the number is extreme and ends up being difficult for them to lose the weight because they stress over the numbers.
