Losing Weight by Summer?!


Question: I own The Girls Next Door WorkOut DVD and work out at least 15 minutes a day, plus I go to the gym 4 times a week for about half an hour. I've also stopped eating food at the restaurant that I work at because I know pretty much all of it is very fattening. I also try to drink a lot of water. I'm 17, but I am slightly overweight. I don't look bad, I'm just a little chubby. I just want to take a little flab off of my upper arms, my belly, my legs, and my neck so I look good in a swimming suit for summer. Are there any other tips any of you can give me?

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 400-600cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day (have lots of veggies to eat in between meals if you are still hungry)
8 glasses of water -carry bottle of water with you and when you feel hungry drink it - we often confuse hunger with thirst (our bodies confuse it)
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for average of 45min, light weight training a few times a week (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, ice cream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
of course you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Probably the best idea is have 1200 calories a day in the form of 6 small meals. Eat lots of protein, to build muscle and burn fat, and drink lots of water. What you're doing already is great and I give you so much credit for doing it. Hope that helps! At this rate, you will lose tons of weight by summer.

Weight watchers online is a great site. You can easily track points. If you stay at or under your daily point value - you'll notice a change within 10-14 days.

i suggest you increase your 15 minute work out to like 40 minutes. but yeah you should lose weight, just do some push ups crunches, muscle work outs. that will help tighten things up and eat more fiber.

i feel you i am a little chubby too i had three kids and cant loose the wieght i have been dieting drinking water walking and not eating after eight at night and make sure u stop drinking soda you will defeintely fit into that suit for the summer dont give up and dont eat dunkin donut muffins there 800 calories...keep up w the water.. and stay positive about you
