Your right. But it's normal for girls to feel like their fat. However you can't "FEEL" fat you "feel" unhappy with your appearance. She's got low self esteem most likely or is just unhappy with her life and is taking out her unhappiness by saying she's fat. Some girls no matter how skinny they are think they're fat. Just keep reassuring her. She'll get comfortable with her own body one day and things will get better for her.

Check her BMI & show it to her. http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/inde...

Good Luck.

Remember you can't help someone unless they help themselves first.

She is not at all fat..girls naturally think they are fat even if they weigh 95 pounds.you are right..she may just be saying that because she likes to here you tell her she isnt fat too. Report It

  • 105 is skinny. She has a distorted self image; not at all rare.

well, I would say you both are correct..
According to her height, her weight seems healthy and normal
But, often girls will feel the need to shed some extra weight from specific areas..
I for once, am healthy weight but I have this strong urge to lose that little bit of baby fat from the face..

Wow, those were my exact stats before I started dieting. She's skinny, she just has body image issues. Unfortunately, no matter how much you tell her, she'll probably still think she's fat. Be supportive. There's not much else you can do. If she starts dieting, keep an eye out for her. If it gets serious, tell a parent or trusted adult.

You're right, of course! She's skinny for her height!!! Show her this question so she can see the truth. She sees herself differently- like millions of teens everywhere, her body image is distorted. :(

Good lord. That's called abusing the term "fat." She doesn't know the first thing about being fat. How insulting.
