bread gives you energy
you need it
don;t ever listen to the people who say don't eat carbs. you need them to keep you going...belive me!
but too much of anything is bad..so go for whole-wheat bread (not ALL the time, but if your having a sandwich choose that bread etc...)

white bread and rice, etc. have calories but little nutrition. that's what makes them "empty". eating whole grain foods are better because they have more nutrients and also have fiber. both will help you lose weight and stay healthy. just watch your portions.

what i did was say no to anything with white flour in it. i found that my skin was better, i could sleep better, and i just felt happier. i ate all whole wheat foods and lost 30 pounds... i wasn't even that overweight! i'm no 5'5" and 110 pounds!

It's more about how much you burn than how much you eat. I have plenty of those "empty carbs" and I manage perfectly fine. As long as you do some cardio in the morning and after meals you should be fine.

Eating too many carbs is always bad, but eating these "empty carbs" is particularly bad. These types of carbs don't do a whole lot for your well being and instead are stored for later...aka to accumulate fat. My thing is, I am a big bread eater--so it was hard for me to count cards. Instead of counting carbs, I counted calories very closely and exercised daily--equaling hugh weight losses. So everyone's diet and body is different, so do what works best for you.

White bread, white rice, etc. are not "empty carbs". They simply pack a lower nutritional punch than other carbohydrates, primarily because they have less fiber. A healthy diet is one that gets the most nutrition from the calories consumed.

Whole wheat bread won't stop you from losing weight. 100% whole wheat bread, in contrast to regular white bread, has more fiber, and more vitamins. Good job for eating whole wheat. Now take a second to think of how much you're eating. If you want to lose weight, try eating a little less. Example: If you have two pieces of whole wheat toast each morning, try having 1. You'll be getting good nutrition, but will be cutting down on calories over-all.
