If you have had a tummy tuck... please come here!?!

Question: I am 5'3 and weigh about 125.
I had a baby and I have ALOT of extra skin around my tummy and major love handles.

My husband knows I really want to have a tummy tuck & we are done having children. (I have one kid and he has 2 kids of his own from previous relationships, so thats 3 kids all together. )

He has just gave me a thumbs up to get started on this now because we have the money. im a little scared though...

1. How long did it take to heal?
2. How much in pain were you in?
3. Roughly how much did it cost you? I know thats different wherever you go...
4. Were you satisfied? and do you have pictures you can share?

I think I need lipo for the love handles and tummy tuck for the tummy... and YES, I have tried working it out. I went from 153-120 in weight so I did work out hard core and this skin shrank a tad but will never go away

I had a tummy tuck about twelve years ago. I was 18 years old at the time and weighted about 130 and 5'3". I had the tummy tuck following a 70 lb. weight loss. I presently weigh about 150. Considering that I have gained 20 lbs over the past 12 years, my stomach is still really flat. Most of that weight gain has gone to other parts of my body rather than my stomach. That is one benefit of the tummy tuck.

It took me about a year before I would say I was perfectly healed. I still have difficulty laying on my stomach because it is so tight. (I also have breast implants which might also be getting in the way.) The post-op pain was very severe, as I recall. I remember immediately regretting it and being in terrible pain. However, as the pain subsided over the following months, I no longer regretted the decision. I do have some minor dog ears (pointy love handles), but liposuction would probably take care of that. Back in 1996, the tummy tuck cost about $5000 in the Pittsburgh, PA area. I am not sure how much it would be at this time.

Hope this helps.

Well, you can get one if you're sure that you're done with children. Just make sure that you have a good birth control. I got my tubes tied before I did mine. If you get pregnant again it's about 7,000 out the window! But, it's worth it if you're done.

I had one done after I was finished with my family. I was 27 then. I'm 50 now.
It took about 6-8 weeks for me to be back to normal. I never really had much pain. You'll walk all hunched over for afew weeks.
I only paid 1000.00, medical paid the other. I think it's around 10,000.00 now, as medical won't pay anymore
I was very happy with it. In fact I'm still extremely happy with it. My stomach is totally flat. I look better in a swimsuit than alot of 20-30 yr olds.
