Carb question?!

Question: if i eat lots of carbohydrates, will i have better performance in sports and stuff, like intense running for about 10 minutes, then like 50 pushups, situps, flutterkicks and about 10 pull ups then 10-15 minutes of intense swimming. Or is that only for continuous exercising for longer periods of time?

Mate Carbohydrates are the source of our energy. We basicly convert them into glycogen which then feuls our muscles so yes having sufficient carbs will aid in all of those things youve mentioned. However the term "carbo loading" where athletes used to stack on the carbs a night before a race or competition is a forgoten practice. We now know that it doesnt really help performance. So make sure you eat the recomended daily intake of carbs but dont worry about overloading on the the night before or anything liek that. Most western diets are rich in carbs anyways so you probably dont have to worry about it. Cheers mate!

Well hopefully your system runs better than mine, but if I have too many carbs I get really high blood sugar and basically have to take a nap. How you will respond to carbs has a lot to do with your response to the insulin your body makes. I am insulin resistant, so I don't respond well to a lot of carbs. Hopefully you won't have that problem.
