How many calories burned in one mile of walking?!

Question: for an over weight person

Answers: for an over weight person

How many calories do I need to burn to lose one pound?

One pound of body fat is equal to 3500 calories.

A healthy rate of weight loss is approximately one to two pounds per week. If you are losing faster than that you may be losing bone and muscle mass in addition to fat. In order to average one pound per week it would be necessary to burn an additional 500 calories per day. (7 days a week X 500 calories per day = 3500 calories.)

If you do not have the time or energy to burn the additional 500 calories a day you can use a combination of calorie reduction and exercise. Such as burning 300 calories a day through exercise and reducing calorie intake by 200 calories.

How many calories are burned walking one mile?

This will vary depending on the individual, speed walked, terrain, etc. An average is 100 calories per mile.

This will be depend on your weight.

It would depend on how fast or slow you walked. Anything that makes you breathe heavy is a good thing since it raises you heart rate and burns calories.

it depends on ur pace, speed, and momentum u use
everyone is different. always start walking, jog, and get
at a comfortable pace and then slow down again. You would
prob only burn under a hundred calories, depending on speed and stuff.

For other walking speeds and other activities, look here:

depends on the pace,2.5mph,3mph,3.5mph etc,but on average i would say about 250

for a average weight person 75

for an overweight person maybe 100-125 depending on your pace.

You Burn About 100 Calories For Every Mile Of Walking

Don't worry about it just do it.

It really depends on your exact weight and how fast u walked...

it really depends on how fast you are walking. I think for an overweight person, you should burn around 400 calories.

it all depends how fast you walk

You burn 300 calories an hour walking hyper fast that your almost running... and you need to burn 3500 calories to lose a pound. IF you are overweight and you have low blood pressure you might burn 150 calories from one hour of walking.

Depends on many things, many of which are unique to the individual, but probably between 3-6 kcal per minute.

a timble size amount. It's not the calories you burn, it's the other things, like raising your basic metobolic rate, that is what really counts, it's not about counting calories. LOL!

About 50-100 calories.
To get an exact number you would need to specify the speed and your exact weight.

Search inline for "exercise calorie calculator" and you'll be able to get exact numbers for any kind of activity.

It depends how fast your going, the speed of your walk. You can go to a sporting store and they have devices that can track the amount of calories you are burning per mile and some treadmills tell you. Walks are a beautiful form of exercise. I hope this helps. Enjoy your walk.

Depending on some key factors it can be anywhere from 60-100 calories. To find out more on this and how many calories burned doing other types of physical activity go to:

I believe I read that on average, about 200 calories would be burned. It could be more or slightly less depending on speed,
and the physical condition you are currently in. An unfit person will "struggle" more to accomplish a mile, and will probably burn more calories than someone who is already extremely fit.
