Answers: i started doing it yesterday, but i dont understand what journal what you eat does exactly.

I keep mine everyday, faithfully. It helps me keep track of what I eat and lets me know when I've had my quota for the day. Also, if I don't lose any for the week then I can look back and see where I need to adjust things. I'm really addicted to it now!

I have been doing it for the past month. It helps you realize what goes in your mouth each day. Literally. I keep mine with me most of the time. It really is a reality check. It makes you eat responsibly in my honest opinion.

Making a food diary is a great way to monitor your eating habits. For example you could compare week 2 with week 5 and see oh look I didnt eat as badly on week 2 as I did on week 5. Or Look Im eating to much past theres my problem. I need to cut down on the carbs. So yeah I think that having a food journal helps in many ways. Weight watchers clients have them and they seem to do well. Its a book to keep track of how much food you consume and which foods you eat and can leave and take out of your diet.

It makes you accountable to yourself for what you eat.
If you're honest with it, and log everything that touches your lips, gum, mints, water, as well as your meals and snacks, it will become a great tool that you can use to make adjustments to your dietary intake. This will also help your dietician, physician, or trainer by giving them your eating history, so they can guide you into making better choices.
It was a real eye-opener when I did it!
