I've lost half a stone!! How can I keep motivated?!


Question: I've lost half a stone in 4 gruling weeks!
Its been really difficult, I was 12 stone, I haven't completly cut out the junk food, and still eat chocolate + a chinese meal once a week.
I walk 5-8 miles a day.

Anyway, how can I keep myself motivated to get to my target weight?
It doesn't seem like a lot, but to me half a stone is loads!
Also, is there any special exercies I can do preferably at home to help me on my way to weight loss.

I gave up smoking about 7 weeks ago but want one every time I see someone smoking. What keeps me motivated is that I don't want to undo what I've achieved. If I was you I'd worry about putting the weight back on so would be motivated to keep doing what you're doing now, not to lose weight but to avoid putting your half stone back on. You don't say what your target weight is but I'm sure if it means enough to you you'll do it. Set yourself smaller targets and reward yourself each time you reach one, that reward should help keep you motivated too. Exercising in the home, well stretching is always a good one when losing weight as it tones the muscles. There are many different stretching exercises but you need pictures. Go to your library and look for a book on simple exercises. Hold your abdomen in, squeeze your bum cheeks at the same time and walk around the house. You'll look ridiculous but it'll tone you up and you'll look slimmer even if you haven't lost weight. You can do this while doing many household chores. Also dance with the hoover, dance as you dust in fact just dance all the time, when your not squeezing your bum cheeks that is. You've done so well, if nothing else works to motivate you just look at the praise you're getting here for your achievement. Also, asking this question again when you've lost a whole stone and seeing the praise you'll get then. Good luck and keep it up. You get to your target weight and I'll stay off the cigarettes and get to where I no longer crave a smoke, we'll do it together.

join a club. an exercise group it will motivate u and u will meet new people! swimming, martial arts etc.
OR, remind urself of BEFORE and AFTER pics..

I was 11 and a half and am now 10 and a half, just by limiting my portions.

I always feel motivated when i see a lower number on the scales... i weigh myself first thing every morning and as long as i don't splurge then it either stays the same or gets lower.

You can lose the other half :)
Think how great you will look and feel.

What is a stone? Buy a cool pair of jeans that are a size too small and make that your incentive.

Chinese food is the WORST type of food ever;
Well the american-ized version at least.

Try doing sit-ups ot squats while watching tv or whatever.

That is excellent keep going on that.
I know it's hard I've tried it also you just got to keep thinking positive and stay focused.
Workouts at home that might help (Treadmills,Weights are really great for weight loss,Skipping,swimming)
Or just running around the local block.

Spring and summer are just around the corner. Think how good you'll fee as you shed the layers. It'll be easier to eat less then as well.

dont make it a chore im a male and still eat great food using weight watchers cook book and i lost a stone in 6 weeks no gym,weights exercise just my job and not thinking about it

thats brilliant i lost a lot of weight through the wrong reasons stress i was a size 18 to 20 now between 8 to 10 only wish i could of lost it through dieting and eating healthily

DO NOT eat laxatives that was a stupid answer. I've just joined the Sun diet on line and I've already lost 5lbs perhaps you should try that. @ fit squadthesun/woman.

Yes so have I ,I watched Gillian Mackeith ,it always does it for me ,I just suddenly decided to stop eating all the rubbish I was eating ,I imagined all that I had ate in a week piled up on a table ,Losing weight is Physiological I am sure ,You have to think yourself in to it,I am going to get her video if I can ,I am lucky I don't like Chocolate much that must be difficult ,I don't follow her to the book or else you would be on seeds and pulses all the time ,but she makes you think ,By the way I was over 13 stone and I am only 5 .2 ,But I am determined to lose it as you feel so much better

The best is to never get on a scale
