Am I way over weight?!


Question: I made a post earlier about my weight loss plans. I am 5'7" and 160lbs. I was told I was WAY over weight and should weigh around 100 -115lbs. I haven't weighed that much since 8th grade. Is that right? It just seems crazy to me. I thought 145lbs was a great goal weight for my height. Thoughts?

Well, firstly you should be shooting a great grand "eff you" towards those who said you should weigh between 100 and 115 pounds. At 5'7", you could be healthy anywhere from that 115 they mention all the way to the 160 you are now.

Weight isn't always about numbers, it's about health. If you can climb stairs without gasping, if you can go to stores and not feel bad about the selection of clothes that you fit into, then you're fine.

What most people fail to realize is that people have different builds- and muscle does indeed weigh more than fat, and also most of the people who will try to tear you down for weighing what you weigh are sitting behind computer screens doing their best impressions of Jabba the Hutt. Frankly, I agree with you. 145 is probably a great goal weight for you, if you're of medium build. If you're of a more willowy frame, maybe you should indeed shoot for 120- or maybe you've larger bones, and 160 is the place to be.

im 12 and i wiegh 110 i thnk 135 is good

just keep on doing those weight lose plans and you would get to your goal in no time

you r pretty much overweight i say for your height 130 should be good 115 is too little i recommend hitting the gym and using a steroid-free product called fire lane, it gives u energy and raises ur body temp a little so u sweat more n lose weight faster when doing cardio

Umm whoever said 110-115 is stupid. You would be severely underweight for 5'7. I would say you are just a TINY bit overweight right now.. 145 would be a perfect weight for you.
Your ideal weight somewhere between 130-155.
