If I am pushing a stroller with 2 kids weighing 90 pounds in it, am I burning mo!

Question: I take a 50 minute walk along hills & flat land with my two sons in their double stroller and their combined weight is 90 pounds. About 8 minutes of that walk includes jogging. Am I burning more calories by pushing them, especially uphill? Or am I burning the same amount of calories as I would if I were walking alone? Thanks!!!

You are burning more calories with them. A calorie is a unit of energy. It gets burned up when you do any kind of action. The more strenuous the action, the more calories you burn just like it takes more energy to run your dishwasher than a 60 watt lightbulb would take. So keep pushing those kids! :-)

You're definately burning more..that stroller adds alot of resistance.

obviously you would be burning more calories because you are expending more energy.

your burning more calories because its more weight and resistance so yes you kids are contributing .=)

yes you defenitly burn more cals. It's not quite the same caluculation as if you weighed 90 lbs mor because of the wheels on the stroller.
but think of is as calories are the fuel for th body and walking is the work completed withthe fuel. when the work is harder ( 90 lbs) you burn more fuel.
