What you need to do, is eat something small before, like an apple with some raw nuts or with cheese, then run, then after you run you need to eat something high in protein like eggs or even better egg whites.

I wouldn't eat and then go on. You will probably get sick, which will discourage you from running on the treadmill at all.

I always find it easier to do the treadmill on an empty stomach in the morning right after I wake up.
I would do it for about 20 minutes 3-4 days a week.
That way, it makes my hungry for breakfast, which is very important.

Some other people I know can't do that, but it works for me.

I think you should go on and than eat. Also, don't exercise more than an hour.
