How can I loose fat on my thighs without getting muscle????!

Question: I have a modeling event in a little over a month. I don't like my inner thighs. I want to loose some weight in that area without gaining muscle. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the fat? Thanks so much.

you can really target where you want to loose fat. Your body determines that. Add some more cardio into your routine. At least 3 times a week. But even though you don't want to "gain muscle" weight training with low weights and high reps will be good and help you get tone. Don't just focus on your legs either. By training with some weights you build lean muscle. It's hard for women to add A LOT of muscle since they lack testosterone so don't worry. Anyways, muscle speeds up your metabolism. As LL Cool J says, "Build muscle, loose fat!" Training with weights for your entire body is good, whether you do a different muscle groups each day or do circuit training for your entire body a few times a week, its all good and do what works best for you. Circuit training is probably easier. Stick with the machines and use about eight or more of them, which each machine targeting a different muscle. do your low weight, high reps on one machine then move on to the next with little or no rest. when you've completed the whole rotation of 8 machines or so, rest for a minute or two, drink some water, then repeat. You could probably do about 3 circuits in about 30-45 minutes and should build up a good sweat and keep your heart rate going.

While you can't target where you loose weight, you could isolate muscles differently by changing the angles during your workout. For your inner legs, instead of normal squats, try rotating your feet so they point outwards. Then do ballet "pilehs". For more resistance, hold some weights your comfortable with. You can also just rotate your feet in the same manner on the leg press machine. you get the picture right?

So cardio, light weight training, and a good diet and you should have a revved up metabolism, and get tone in no time. Happy modeling!!!

the only thing i can think of is swimming and walking, you want something high in reps, ie walking 3 miles instead of running one, but low in weight and effort

You can't get rid of fat in one spot. Your body will decide where the fat gets burned when you lose weight. If you do low weight, high reps in that area you should be able to tone up a bit without too much bulk. You will probably have to lose a little weight too though to see them shrink down.
