Is this going to kill me?!


Question: My daily diet consists of three main things, and in excess. I am not overweight, but I eat like someone who is. I don't eat meat, but I also don't eat vegetables. A friend of mine recently told me she's worried about my health, so I'm looking for information on what kind of issues I'm going to have to deal with. Here are the only things I take in:

1. Cheese and bread combinations (e.g. plain cheese pizza, grilled cheese sandwiches, cheese toast, cheese pitas, cheese sandwiches, cheesesticks)

2. Sugary junk food (Rice Krispy treats, Poptarts, cinnamon rolls, cookies, cake, ice cream)

3. Diet Coke (I drink this constantly, literally)

Yikes! I love grilled cheese sandwiches, too, but you've GOT to eat some vegetables.

Your diet sounds like you're headed toward type 2 diabetes, a heart attack, or both.

Lay off a lot of the cheese and carbs. Eat vegetables and some protein along with the cheese/bread combination.

Seriously, you don't want type 2 diabetes. I work with people who went blind from that within five years of onset. Eat right, and exercise while you're still young. Diabetes causes so much misery.

YES, not tomorrow, maybe not next year, but eventually.

It may not kill you, but when you're older it will definitely catch up with you. Plus, who wants rotted teeth?

It depends on your age. you could go on like this for a long time but it will eventually catch up with you like in your mid to late 20's. Be careful!

I think you should expand your diet. People who have a diet like this may experience hair loss, nail loss or thinning, due to the lack of vitamins, minerals, and protein. Everyone needs an equal share of everything on the food pyramid.

ha, kidding. i have no clue but it sounds incredibly unhealthy. no meat or veggies? ya, youre going to get malnutrition or something.

probably..too much fat and sugar....exercise more and eat balanced meals..diet soda causes cancer cuz the aspartame

you sound like my neighbor. she eats hot dogs, PB and J, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, etc. The only healthy thing I have ever seen her eat is canteloupe. She came to our house one time when her parents were out and we had pasta and string beans. She wouldn't touch it. She is overweight and her dad is diabetic.

That's a bad diet...you need to eat 4-6 round diets a day...you are lacking there

Say bye bye to ten years of your life.

If you feel good and you look good and you think that stuff taste good.......than its all good!

i am 28 and just slightly overweight, I started gainig wieght at about 25

cholesterol should be your main concern. You need to eat veggies, try throwing some on your grilled cheese, and eat fiber. SOda tastes good but it is the worst thing in your diet.

I think number 2 and 3 are the worst for you if you could cut down to like 4 sodas a week and a snack now and then occasionally..the cheese bread and pizza shouldn't be a big deal unless u order pizza constantly....so I grant you good luck with ur health

It could effect you in the long run since you aren't getting all the nutrients/vitamins and what not that you need.

your friends just jealous, if your skinny and you can eat whatever you want.... be proud of!...some people would kill to have your metabolism!

That is a really unbalanced diet. You should cut back on the junk and eat fruits and vegetables. Drink V8. If you won't eat meat, try eating tofu or eat beans and corn so you can get all the amino acids you need. Just try it. Stay away from the Diet Coke, by the way. It has chemicals in it which destroy brain cells.

I don't think this is going to kill you...at least, not immediately. There are some serious vitamin/mineral deficiencies here. And also, way too much cheese.

You will either have heart problems from the processed food and saturated fats or cancer from sacrian in your diet drinks. But look on the bright side ,strong bones from all your calcium

It sounds like you must be very young. Your diet will not immediately kill you, but is, in the long run, very bad for you and could result in different problems like diabetes and heart problems, which could be fatal.

You need very much to start including fruits and vegetables in your diet and start slowly decreasing the amount of junk you eat. You also need to consume protein, which can be in a vegetarian form if you don't like meat (beans, soy, etc). You also need to include plain water- try drinking one glass of water per every glass of diet soda you drink.

You may not be overweight, but your diet is not healthy and could lead to real health problems. I hope you take steps to improve your eating so you don't have to suffer later on in life.

Yeesh. You have protein and carbs covered but you are getting absolutely no fiber whatsoever. You are also probably very deficient in the vitamin department too. Vitamins in a pill form will help but they are no substitute for vitamins from real, natural food. Your fat intake is probably very high too given the cheese and junk food you consume. And your sodium intake is high as well. Check your blood pressure and cholesterol levels, they should be monitored if you have been on this diet for any long period of time. And be prepared for health problems down the road, this diet will end up killing you. Seriously, no joke. You should reconsider what you eat.

My main concern would be the high carbohydrate and sugar diet. There is little protein in your diet too because meat and beans are the main sources of protein which are essential to maintaining muscle mass and so many other functions. The diet coke has simple sugars that are easy to digest. This causes spikes in your blood sugar which has been suggested to cause type II diabetes later in life.

I have this problem with eating things like this too and I have found that having readily available and peeled fruit around helps a lot. I also like vitamin water by glaceau because it's still has flavor but it doesn't have the high sugar content of cola.

I love your diet! I wish we could all eat like that especailly all that cheese!!! But unfortnatlly! you are doing harm to yourself. I mean, have you ever seen that show on the health channel? I think TLC called Hunney we are Killing the kids? It is a good eye opener. After I saw that I was like I do not want to get Mcdonalds anymore! Also if you arn't going to eat right, take vitemans. They have vegetable vitemans, that is a way to do it if you arn't going to get it, also take in more calcium! Because you could so easily get ostopro whatever it is when you get older! and if you want to lose weight, you need to drink water. Plus water is important! Your body is made of mostly water and you need to drink it! like 8 cups a day at least! I drink a gallon! I usually get the special K protein mix for my water, it makes it easeir to drink, plus that is a way you can get your protein in, but you really need to take in more protein, like peanutbutter if you dont eat meat, eggs, milk, nuts, exc. Search this stuff online, because you will become a wrinkly old icky fat greasy pesron if you dont keep up with it, and could die young, and plus Diet soda is horrible for you!! My friends husbands mom is a nutritionist and told her that if you drink enough of it you, you could get cancer or soemthing like that, cus diet means a substatute for sugar, meaning its a chemical! ishhy...

Breads are mainly carbohydrates which are broken down by your body in to simple sugars. Cheese is a dairy product which is pretty much protein. These things are all right for your body to a certain extent but you need balance in your diet.

Sugary junk food is empty calories. Eventually your body will not metabolize it the way it does now. You'll start gaining weight and you are already putting yourself at risk for Adult-onset Diabetes.

Diet coke has no nutritional value.

Rice krispie treats aren't a bad thing though.

You need balance in your diet to help your digestive system stay clean and to offset the calories of the food you eat. Some of the food you eat actually burns more calories to digest than it's own caloric value.

Like celery, leafy greens, carrots, fiber cereal and so on.

I think not eating meat is fine. I eat meat but not much. There are also minerals and vitamins in other things that your body needs a steady supply of. Fruits and vegetables have so much nutritional value that I couldn't even begin to tell you about all of them.

My main concern about your diet are two things...

Anemia and malnutrition.

If you aren't getting enough iron, it can cause a host of problems.
If you aren't taking in the vitamins that you need everyday your body will suffer.

Tips...

Substitute Oranges, Apples, Bananas for SOME of your sugary junk food.

take in some vegetables with your cheese dishes so that your body can have some beta keratin.

Just try to find a happy balance.

Also drink more water.
