Does this ever happen to you?!

Question: Im 16 years old and weigh 261 pounds. All this week ive been controlling my portions of what I eat. Ive been walking 30 minutes a day. Until Thursday, I walked an hour. 30 minutes when I got up and 30 minues in the evening. I go to bed at 4am and get up at 1pm. I know my sleeping schedule is kinda messed up because I dont go to school. I used to sit around and pig out. I always overate and ate junkfood. This week I stopped doing that. I might have ate a cupcake or a few peanut butter cookies. But before that I would eat like a horse lol.

But, today I walked an hour and a half. My feet started to ache. I My calfs was aching. I was like OMG if I continue this I will lose weight. Then after I sit down and 10 minutes later, it didnt feel like I did anything. I just want to keep going. Has this happened to you? I bet I burned around 500 calories. I havent really been on a diet, just eating normal now and watching my portions.

yea I'm sure it happens to all of us, its a normal part of being active. Keep on doing what your doing. Sounds like you got off to a good start and keep your portions small like you mentioned before. Remember its all about moderation. Make sure you keep excising and stay away from the junk food, its really easy to bounce back to old eating habits especially when you're at home whether its on break or for a while. The foot pains are normal when exercising a lot, unless they become unbearable..in which case you would see a doctor. You'll burn a lot of calories and loose a lot of weight if you continue on in this path of success. Good luck!

This is very sad. You need to keep sweating and drinking alot of water. this will help flush the fat out of your body.

Your muscles are getting used to moving, they'll hurt for a minute but if you continue to run and work out it will get better. the best way to cure pain from exercise is exercise. I am proud of you, keep it up, its good to see you are taking a positive role in your health. Stay committed while you're still young.

well...that doesnt happen to me because im pretty fit
but keep it up youre doing a good job
the only thing is...id advise you not to push your limits too hard...because you'll end up rebelling back and messing up...
take it slow, especially if your body isnt used to exercise
good luck!
xXXx
the sweating is gross lol
but i guess its a good sign....it'll get better when you improve your fitness, agility and stamina

OK- One of the first problems with being on a diet is the thought of radically altering the way you eat- ie cutting down on anything you eat. Think of changing your eating. Five small meals instead of 3 large ones. Increasing your activity is good, but find something you can stay with. Same with eating. Find things that you like to eat that are good for you. Find snacks that are healthy that you like. Fresh fruit or veggies with a dip is always a good snack. Just think : what I am eating is going to benefit me...how. Protein is always good for teens. Believe it or not... you are still growing. Starting good habits now is always the way to go.

yeah it happens to me. its a release of endorphins (sp?) that bring on the "feel good" feeling. i get hyped up after doing some exersize then waiting for a bit to cool down. dont exersize close to bedtime as it makes ur body all scrambled and takes longer to wind down tho.
watching portions is good coz most ppl eat what they think is healthy but thier portions sizes are huge and they wonder why they arent getting anywhere. dont deprive urself from treats (the cupcake etc) just choose healthier options. to help with the hunger thing. try low GI foods. google low GI food lists and there is oodles to choose from
keep going the way u are going.

May I ask? Why don't you go to school if your only 16? In addition to the walking you need to eat a healthy diet. I'm not sure what you mean by a "eating normal" and what are you doing between 1pm and 4am besides walking for 30 mins twice a day? Keeping active is a major part of weightloss.
