How much can I eat and still maintain my weight?!


Question: I currently eat at least under 1500 calories a day. I don't work out everyday, but I do atleast work out like 3-4 days every week. Im 122 pounds and 5'5.

you can eat up to your matainance calorie level (use a calculator). your body will naturally adapt to a lower or higher caloric intake just for homeostasis (stay the same). your body doesnt want to loose fat or gain it so it adapts your metabolism to fit your diet. if you keep eating just 1500 calories per day your body will eventually adapt to it by slowing the metabolism. Then you will be maintaining your weight, same thing if you started eating 2000 cals per day, the body adapts unless you keep switching things up. 3-4 days a week is plenty.

It's good that you have a workout. I guess the trick there is to have balanced healthy eating habits and to avoid junk foods and fatty foods. Your weight is just right for your height. You have nothing to worry about.
