it makes you sweat releasing toxins and other stuff from your body it will also help in losing weight as far as what to wear check your gyms code of conduct some go in naked others go in in bathing suit
its pretty relaxing but dont fall asleep thats bad for you to be in there to long and drink lots of water cause you will be dehydrated
