The best way to loose weight is to start talking to your doctor. Make sure your weight is not due to a medical condition. He/she can suggest local groups if teens in your area with similar weight issues.

Exercise is good but so is what you eat. Start with lots of fruits and vegetables. Serve yourself those first on you plate and eat them first. It helps to fill you up so you don't after the sweet stuff later. Drink lots of water too and get moving. There are no magic pills. Trust me I have tried so many of them it does not work.

Do not focus on a diet that restricts what you can and can't eat. Learn about a healthy diet and do your best. You can still have those candy bars and french fries just make sure you are eating the good stuff first. You remember your parents telling you to eat your all your vegetables or no desert. Now that you are 13 it is time for you to start taking responsibility for your own body.
