In order to gain weight you need to eat more calories than you burn. Eat 500 more calories a day to gain 1 pound a week.

Here's a calculator to determine how many calories you need: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie...

Here are some tips:

-- At every meal, eat 2 servings of carbs for every 1 serving of protein. (When people are trying to LOSE weight, I tell them to eat each parts protein and carb). By "carbs" I mean anything that's mostly carbohydrates, like breads, cereals, or fruits. For "protein" I mean meat, eggs and dairy, etc.

-- Go for fattier options. Add cheese to stuff, especially extra-sharp cheddar. Switch to whole milk. Use heavy whipping cream for your coffee instead of fake cream or half-and-half.

-- For workouts, focus more on lifting weights than on running. Don't run for more than about half an hour a week or so. Lift weights at least 3 times a week.

-- Eat immediately before and immediately after a workout (again, I tell people trying to lose weight to do the opposite: work out on an empty stomach, and don't eat for an hour after).

-- In the gym, lift heavy weights with few reps. Lift something like 8-6-4 reps per exercise, for example. Really push yourself. Rest for 1-2 minutes between sets.

-- Keep track of your weight. If you're not gaining weight, add another 250 calories to your daily intake. Do this every time your weight gain stops.

-- I'm jealous of you.

How old are you? And how tall please?
