Nutritious goodies to buy?!


Question: So it's soccer season, the time when I have to say goodbye to candy and chocolates and everything else with any taste to it. I'm sick of having nothing good to eat whenever it comes around. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should buy to eat? Just something that tastes good and is healthy with little to no fat?(other than fruit) Anything would be wlecome! I'll come back and give the best answer tomorrow. :)

-fruits
-vegies
-whole grain/wheat breads/pasta/brown rice/oatmeal
-low fat dairy(2% milk, yogurt, low fat ice cream or frozen yogurt, low fat cheese)
-lean protein/meats like chicken, turkey, egg whites)
-nuts/seeds...peanut butter is VERY healthy if u eat 2 tablespoons and stay within that limit
-beans



SNACKS

-baked lays chips
-cheesesticks
-100 calorie packs
-breyers double churned(and no added sugar)choclate fudge brownie ice cream
-chocolate peanut butter ricecakes
-frozen fruit with fat free cool whip
-quaker chewy granola bars
-fruit pops

-pretzels and fat free cream cheese
-hummus and pita chips

HEALTHY BREAKFAST IDEAS

-oatmeal and a banana
-cereal(watch sugar)...get whole grain cereals
-granola and yogurt
-english muffin and peanut butter
-toast and jelly
-an apple could go along with anything
-scrambled egg whites and low fat or non fat shredded chedder cheese
-whole grain mini bagel and fat free cream cheese
for drinks: milk, chocolate milk, 100% juice(preferably orange)

HEALTHY DINNER IDEAS


-chili
-beef stew
-pasta
-grilled chicken
-fish
-seafood
-turkey
-hamburgers or hotdogs
-potatoes
-corn
-steak
-sandwich
-soup
-quesadillas

100 calorie snack packs are wonderfull! They are healthy and there are a lot of different variety's! You can get cookies,puddings, and all that stuff, and it isn't bad for you! Hope this helped =)

You take a tortilla, lay down some turkey, put a salad on top of it, use a lowfat cheese on top of that, and some low fat salad dressing. It's an awesome meal, and comes out around 4-500 calories.

I agree about 100 calorie packs, but I buy the snacks (crackers, cookies, pretzles, puddings etc) in full size, the pre portion them in baggies to save $$.

I portion pudding in 5 oz plastic cups that restaurants use for carryouts. You can buy the at Gordon Food or maybe a local restaurant will sell some to you.

Quaker rice cakes are the "dieter's food," but I tried the caramel corn and I love them. They make small bags, cakes, and bite size in different flavors including chocolate. Yogurt is something else that is really good for you, but is pretty reasonable to eat. Kellogg's Special K is my favorite cereal, they have a few different flavors. They also have snack bars, packs and power bars. Use skim milk with it. V8 splash berry blend is fat free and only 70 calories for 8 ounces. I love animal crackers, but I am not sure the fat or calorie content.

For a hot meal, try looking in the freezer section for Lean Cuisine or South Beach diet foods. Good luck!
