Legs getting bigger?Tone question!?!

Question: I am trying to tone up my body(mostly my legs)..I have been walking on my treadmill 2-3 miles 5 days a week plus aerobic workouts on my floor..Everything seems to be going good..and my legs looked like they were getting firmer and smoother...but when I tried on a pair of my jeans..they were tighter on me! How can this be?I haven't gained weight and even if I had it would be muscle.

Muscle is going to make your legs larger. This will explain why it is hard to put on your pants. Make sure when you are on the treadmill you are pushing yourself. Your breathing should be a little strained but not too much. It also should not be just a stroll as this doesnt really help at all. You should be focusing on loosing fat first then building muscle. If you are building muscle under the fat this will also cause your pants to be tight. Try to eat less carbs and lots of protein. drink a lot of water and nothing with a lot of sugar in it. For instance. I eat egg whites in the morning, have a protein bar or shake for a snack for lunch and dinner i have chicken or fish and broccoli. Try something like this for 2 weeks and dont cheat. You will see a huge difference. Good Luck

There are a lot of large muscle groups in the lower body, more speciffically the thighs. Keep the cardio and lighten up on the squats. Pick up the pace on the treadmill.
Don't put your jeans in the dryer...

You have probably just gained muscle (yes muscle) in your legs so they are bigger. Technically muscle is what you want so you are doing just fine. You want to tone and I believe that is what you are doing. When I run a lot my legs do get bigger but they also get more toned so it works for me. I am not a professional that is just my opinion.
