You have to be the one to do this. Get up and get active, invite family members or friends to come with you so it's not such a chore.

Riding a bike is good way to start. Stretch a bit first to keep from straining muscles, then ride an hour or two every day.

Drink lots of water, it will make you less hungry. A little junk food now and then won't kill you, but keep it in moderation. Try and eat fresh foods and again drink lots of water.

If you can get an indoor machine to use in your house, that may make it easier for you to exercise. Also while watching TV get up during commercial breaks and walk around.

Don't eat in front of the TV or while doing something else. It's harder to control how much you eat.

These are things you have to do for yourself, good luck and be strong. If you want it you can make it happen. (LOL that doesn't sound cheesy at all.)

If you feel you are over weight, the best question to ask yourself is " am i happy?" if answer is yes then who bloody cares lol!

I actualy WAS overweight, but have been on a no cook diet plan for a few months now, im actualy quite slim lol...its true lol!

Since you enjoy riding your bike, make a commitment to ride for 20 minutes every day. Hopefully because you like to ride you'll stick with it. As you feel yourself getting in better shape, increase the time and intensity of your workout.

Food can make or break you. It's important to watch how much junk food you eat. If you feel a craving coming on, grab a piece of fruit or something instead of a cookie or piece of candy. Eliminate pop completely, as it consists of a ton of sugar and empty calories. Drink plenty of water each day, and get a full night's sleep every night. Remember that it is okay to snack between meals, as this keeps your metabolism running efficiently, but snack on mostly healthy foods.

Good luck!

Well from what you've told us, you love your bike - now there's a start!

The good thing here is, is that you already know what you enjoy, it's just a case of taking it further. Go on long bike rides, or cross country style (be safe, wear a helmet!). Take a friend along with you, or listen to some music while you cycle so you forget your even cycling!

Diet-wise, motivate yourself with post it notes, reminding you why you want to loose weight, and encourage yourself to eat fruit. Limit TV as much as you can, and do as much exercise as you can.

Here are some other suggestions on ideas of what sports you might like to try - remember, you don't know what it's like until you have tried it!
- Boxing
- Martial arts
- Football
- Running
- Tennis
- Badminton
- Golf
- Gymnastics
- Cheer leading (yeah boys can do it too!)
- Weight lifting (not recommended until your 16 for growth reasons)

The hardest thing about accomplishing anything is usually starting it. Once you get in a routine for a couple of weeks, your subconscious mind will be set and you'll function on automatic. Even if you can't motivate to exercise, start with diet. Overall, it's the more important factor anyway. Remove all liquid calories--drink only water and a lot. Eat 6 small meals a day to boost metabolism. Eat oatmeal without sugar, cream, butter. Avoid processed foods. When you see progresss, you'll want to do even more. Then start light jogging (or treadmill, etc.) and weightlifting.

The free E-book on this site might be just what you need to help you lose weight. It's a free download so at least it won't hurt to try it.
