I've gained weight!?!

Question: A resolution to this would be great!
I've been exercising loads in the last month to get fit for my Royal Air Force fitness test, I've been running twice a day, doing all the rest i.e sit ups, press ups etc. But I've put on half a stone since I started. I'm confused though, because before I couldn't fit into 36" jeans and now they are baggy on me and I know I've got slightly fitter.
Any resolutions?

Don't worry, when you first start exercising you start to build up muscle. And remember - muscle weighs more than fat!
This happened to me, and if you keep running and doing what you're doing, they'll tone down. Seriously.
But you need to make sure you're eating healthy; exercise isn't the only thing you need to be worrying about.
Fruits and veggies are a must, don't go overboard on complex carbs and protein on a daily basis is great.

;D

ummmmmm buy new jeans???

You're replacing fat with muscle. Muscle is heavier so change your routine if you want to lose weight & increase fitness.

You've probably lost fat but gained more lean muscle mass which is more compact in the body but weighs more than fat which would explain the weight gain

You're gaining muscle weight, not fat. Don't worry about it.

Tommy Boy, all that exercising has added more muscle to your lovely body, and muscle weighs more that fat. You don't need a resolution to your situation. The RAF will love you for taking care of yourself.
