I ate 3000 calories today, will I burn most of them off tomorrow when I run?!

Question: So I usually just eat about 2300 or less but my mom ordered out and of course I pigged out because I was starving. I also ate a whole bag of corn chips with salsa and a piece of chocolate cake. I run 5 times a week and one of my running days is tomorrow so will I burn most of what I ate today off? Thank you so much for your answer.

As long as you don't eat 3000 calories EVERY day, you'll be fine. If you go right back to your regular eating, you won't even notice. Don't freak out.

Check this side honey... ;)

If you normally eat 2300 that is only 700 calories more than usual- I bet you could add an extra half hour of training to your run two days this week and take care of those extra 700. Maybe do come circuit training or jump rope or something.

i was reading in a magazine that if you run, for every mile you run at approx. 10 mins you burn about 600 calories and 70 extra calories for every minute less then 10. so if you do go running tomorrow just run a little longer. i don't think it's a huge deal we can all indulge are selves every once and i while.

running can burn 400 (easy jog) to a1000 calories per hour(or little more) for really hard efforts such as intervals/sprinting) depending on your gender and weight.

the actual running itself doesn't consume a whole lot of calories, its the raised metabolism for the hour or so after wards and while you sleep, hence throw a couple 100 meter sprints into your run then jog to recover and you will crank up the metabolism.

And some type of resistance training (weights push ups)really raises the metabolism.
also by changing the amount of calories you consume each day kinda keeps the body guessing and reducing the chance that you go into starvation mode further reducing calorie consumption,
I bike ride every day and race at 45 years old, I can and do eat whatever i want, if i pig out i just add a few more miles the next day, I have weighed 110 pounds for the last 30 years and some ( Ok a lot)days eat horribly, in fact I just ate an entire chocolate cake so it'll be 3hrs on the bike tomorrow LOL

Also I used know a female personal trainer and she ate junk food (weakness for cheese cake) all the time and had six pak abs and 4% body fat. she did work out 6 hrs a day though!!
So you should be OK as long as youre active and nice job running so often and when your knees give out for all that wear and tear, ask me about bike racing ;-)

good luck

Might have to do a little more than run. Come on over to my house and we will train together. Love, honey
