Try 2 days on 1 day off. Alternating your workout. E.G. Chest and back on day 1 and arms and shoulders on day 2, follow these with as many sit ups as you can and 30-60 mins on a cardio machine. I prefer a X trainer, dont like impact machines. Do 4 sets of no more than 12 ,if you can do more then its too light, if you cant do more than 6 its too heavy.

If you want take a protein shake with creatine powder before your workout, lots of water during and a shake after. Go home and have a health meal.

If you dont feel like doing it all 1 day, Stick on a heavy weight and give it 1 set.

P.S. try for a 1 min rest between sets, its hard but you cant rest too long.

Good Luck

You don't so much need to rest on and off. The way I do it, and always have done it, is one day I'll work on upper body, the next day lower body. That way you still get that rest period for what you worked out & don't miss a day :) I usually go every day, but lately only a few days a week.

Ok dude, if you're just starting out I would suggest training every 2nd day. But first thing to think about is what are you aiming for. Which body part do you want to build up or is this an all over build up.
Get yourself a training programme and starting reading muscle mags and taking note of the techniques they use. The most important advice I can give you is " drugs will only give you short term results" and you will get tempted. Whatever the drugs do to put on muscle, it will dissappear just as fast when you stop taking them.
I would increase your training 2 days on 1 off after 3 months and then 3 on 1 off when you feel up to it.
Plenty of protein in the early stages. This helps muscle recovery.

Have fun.
