Will a mostly liquid diet cause me to gain or lose weight?!

Question: With my busy schedule i find that my diet has begun to consist of mostly liquid. I drink allot of low sodium v8 juice, milk, chocolate milk, fruit juices (always 100% juice) and water of course. I still eat solid foods mostly in the evening at dinner time, lots of veggies and grains and some sort of meat but allot of my nutrition comes from liquids. So what i am wondering is will i gain weight quickly on a mostly liquid diet, or will i start to lose weight? Or does it not make any difference?

It depends on how many calories you are taking in. If you are using up more calories than you take in you will lose weight, but anything under 1200 calories a day is considered a starvation diet. The body recognises this and slows down the metabolism to conserve energy, and fat. You will gain weight if you are taking in less than this and not eating regularly. People can gain weight having 3 meals a day, because in between meals it is too long and the body sees this time as starvation. It will put down the food it does get as fat stores until it feels that the starvation is over. Eating every 2-3 hours is far better for the metabolism and insulin levels.

A mostly liquid diet will cause you to lose weight very fast - Beyonce lost 20 pounds in under 2 weeks going on a liquid diet (see my source to see more about how beyonce lost weight fast)

Liquid diets will make you lose weight fast, but it's easy to gain back.
