Soda and weight???!

Question: For the last couple of months ive been drinking more soda than usual. On the average i drink soda 7-9 times a week. I know this is not a healthy habit. Before i did not drink soda as often, i used to drink it only a couple of times a week. But now ive noticed that as ive drank more soda, ive gained like 10 lbs or so (normal soda). My question is...if i stop drinking soda and replace it with water or tea, how much weight should i expect to lose or not gain in a few months or a year? I just want to know the impact of soda on my body in the long-term, although i kinda of know the answer to this question, i need some feedback to get my act together...thanks ;)

Replacing soda with water will definitely cut down on your weight. My brother tried this and lost about 100 overall in about 4 months. He also became vegan and did yoga, though. But drinking that many sodas weekly is a VERY bad habit. My mom had me do this experiment. The next time you have a rotisserie chicken or any other meat that still has the bones in it, take a can of soda and pour it into a glass. Put a bone in the soda and let it sit overnight. When you wake up, look at it and see what the soda did to it. This is a long term effect of drinking soda that can occur even if you only drink one soda daily. It's pretty much osteoporosis.

Im not sure how much you'd lose personally, but soda does bloat you and make you gain lots of weight.

OMG! I lost like sooo much weight from completely cutting out soda! Like 20 pounds in one month! I also ate a lot healthier and drank tons more water but I'm sure that the soda had soooo much to do with it.

tea and water are two of the most healthiest beverages (water being THE healthiest, of course) so as long as you're not loading your tea with sugar and high-fat milk, you should actually lose weight althought i don't think you will lose the 10lbs you gained without some extra help from a healthier diet and excercise.

Trading soda for water is a terrific choice. It will also probably have an effect on your teeth. I had cavities constantly, until I quit drinking sugared soda. In almost 30 years now, I have had 1. That's pretty amazing!!!
