Dying to be thin again...?!


Question: I've never really fit in, and I used to be skinny. Now I'm 15 years old, 165 lbs. and a little overweight. I know that it's not that fat,but... I want to be skinny again really bad. I'm scene/emo, and I fit into a size 8 if I want it tight. I hate it. I feel like it's keeping me from being myself. My friend and I have recently decided to try not eating, and also we stole some diet pills from the store. Not intended for minors and not sure they will work.I was thinking about losing 30 lbs. max. Anyone care to lend me some tips? ( Also, I have not used the pills yet )

Hey! Don't take those pills...most of the time the side affects are accelerated heart rates/moodswings/ nausea ect.

Dont starve yourself becuase what will happen in the begining is your body will go into starvation mode and it will STORE all your fat and you will loose nothing. If you keep NOT eating and get past the starvation phase then you will have NO energy, week nails and loss of hair growth, headaches, loss of sleep ect.

Do it the right way. The key is eating small meals. I know its hard being 15 becuase you may NOT have a say in what groceries your parents buy or joining a gym but this is what you can do:

For exercise speed walk around your neightborhood....if you do this daily you WILL see results. Buy a cheap jump rope and every night do as many as you can in a row (this is a great work out)

For food ask your parents if they dont already buy this stuff your plan of action to getting healthier and i'm sure they will oblige:

Breakfast: Drink a slimfast Optima (it has TEN grams of protien and is great for people are dont usually eat breakfast...NEVER skip this meal) if you have time: eat 2 egg whites and a peice of whole grain toast with real butter.

Snack: Hanful of nuts, string cheese

Lunch: Turkey and cheese on pita bread with baked chips and fruit of choice

Snack: Fruit of choice nuts or cheese

Dinner: Grilled fish (tilapia is my favorite) steamed veggies- one peice of bread.

Cut out ALL softdrinks. Its ok to have a little sugar during the day...keep it to a minimum. The key is to eat OFTEN....this list above has lots of protein that will keep you going and your metabolism up.

This will have all a round great results becuase this will get your endorphines going (making you litterally feel good) you will also have TONS more engergy and get better sleep.

instead if you are a bit overweight do excercise! do you have a dog? take it for a walk

The pills can cause serious damage. Watch tv. There are so many commercials about class action law suits against these companies. Also starving yourself won't work. When you don't eat your body becomes aware of it and shuts down your metablism so it can use stored fat. Just eat smaller portions and move around more. Try dancing or walking 15 min a day 3X a day.

Being thin is not going to help you fit in. There is no reason you need to strive to fit in. Once you get out of high-school you will realize there is a lot more to happiness than just "fitting in". I hope you find an alternative to starving yourself and taking pills. Join a sports team and make friends with those who are on the team. Also, you are 15. Your weight is going to fluctuate quite a bit during your teen / young adult years while you are still growing.

Don't stop eating. Continue eating but eat sensibly. Do not skip breakfast. It help get your digestive system working for the day which help burn calories. No junk food, no fast food. Eat lots of green vegetable and salads with lite salad dressing. Also exercise it is very important. Remember, you did not put the weight on over night you will not lose it over night. Max weight lose safely is 2 lbs per week. Good Luck

Kay first of all.....walk to the corner of a doorway...and bang your head against the wall about 20 times...then...throw those damn weight loss pills out the window...these will only make you sick if you're not eating, and most definitely end you up in the hospital. Then...get your Damn fingers outta your throat...and maybe try eating healthy foods!!!!!! Not eating is only going to make you gain weight, because you're body is going to hold onto anything and everything it can...making your metabolism slow to a screaching hault. Lastly, try walking around the block a few times..it's called excersice...stop being a lazy whiny baby and do something about your issues. If you wanna lose weight, and feel better about yourself, try doing it the normal, healthy way, instead of being a low-life, and taking the easy/retarded way out. Ohhh and I woudl highly suggest getting some better friends....ones who don't make you feel worthless because of your body image....

here's a tip - throw out the pills and you and your friend walk everyday...then when you are comfortable with that take it to a slow jog. if you don't eat at all you will not lose weight. you will lose more weight eating more - 3 balanced meals and some healthy snacks in between. best exercise i ever got was being a waitress in a busy restaurant. bless you that you can get into an 8 - i cant and i weigh a little less than you. i joined curves and changed my eating habits - so far I'm down 10 with 20 to go. soda is the devil so don't drink it...just make some changes and the weight will come off. you are young!

if you don't eat and shove those pills down your throat you are risking your life - i just want you to know that.

i took hydroxycut once and thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest. just lose it healthy and you will thank yourself in the end. best of luck - i know how you feel - TRUST ME...i was once you only scene/emo didn't exist yet...whatever that emotional fad means...

The South beach diet method is.....
No white foods including: Potato's, rice, bread, sugar,or pasta
It's not forever! just try it and see what happens!
Whole grain or wheat bread is ok after 2 weeks.

Eat Veggies and all the meat you want--Eggs are really good!
Substitute Splenda for sugar.
If you stay away from all whites for 2 weeks I promise you will lose at least 8 lbs, without exercise! Remember not to eat after 8pm and drink LOTS of water! Good luck!

Not eating and taking diet pills will jus make ur body bad ur body needs food to suvive and if u carry on doin this u can damage ur body i suggest eating healthy and exercising maybe u and ur friend cud join a gym or go running?.. missing meals mite seem like a good idea but its not.. eat meals and have smaller portion's and dont snack in between or if u do eat fruit or something healthy..hope this helps

not eating is not the answer it causes ur body to hold onto the fat more because it knows it will need "reserves" just cut down on the junk food n eat more small portions if u n ur friend r doing this together it will be easier i wouldnt use the pills how do u guys get around do u have ur parents drive u everywhere if so stop doing that and walk everywhere possible i never had a ride anywhere when i was ur age n i lived outside of town but i would ride my bike to school n walk to my friends houses like 3 or 4 miles everyday (except in the rain lol)but i would suggest trying things like that i was never over weight but staying really active helps with that also it never really matters if u fit in i had one best friend in highschool n we were weird n didnt care cuz we had eachother we would hang out with other people but it was us against the world n we had a blast so dont let not fitting in get u down it doesnt matter anyway but turns out alot of people thought we were "soo cool" we had no idea we were to busy being retarded but w/e it was fun but yea just eat smaller portions of healthy stuff try to have small healthy snacks in between meals n try walking or riding ur bike everywhere

At 15, you have no idea what your body has in store for you. You could grow another 6 inches, and then 165 would be RAIL THIN, or you could have some hormonal imbalances from adolescence and that's causing you to gain weight and you'll drop it as soon as you're 18-19.

In any case, my best bet is that your diet is terrible. If you eat what I ate when I was 15, then your diet is atrocious. Cook meals at home, don't order pizza, don't eat fast food, NEVER drink regular (non-diet) sodas, and don't eat stupid bags of chips/sweets/mini muffins/cookies/whatever from the school lunch room. Don't eat fried foods, don't eat white breads, pastas and potatoes, bring your lunch to school and eat some lean protein (turkey, chicken, tuna, ect).

If you just De-Tox yourself from all of the CRAP you've been eating, you'll probably lose a pound a week for as long as you keep doing it. You don't need diet pills at all, and you don't need to starve yourself.

Eat about 1800 calories a day and make sure that 1500 of them are completely clean (no sugar, no bad fats, ect).

Oh, by the way, I don't really know what "scene/emo" means, but I'm guessing it means you don't play sports. PLAY A SPORT. Do SOMETHING active every day, even if it's just walking for 5 miles. These are the easiest and best years of your life. Don't waste them by being a lazy slob who doesn't play any sports and takes diet pills to stay at 165.

Please don't take the diet pills, and not eating aint no kind of way to lose weight cuz the second you start eating again your weight is gone go right back up. Try losing the weight in a healthy weight by eating right and exercising. I'm also 15 some of my friends are slightly over weight, one of my friends weighed 200 pounds and lost the weight in a healthy way of diet and exercise and she looks so great! if you just don't eat your gone be saggy and your self esteem is gone go down even more. but if you do it in the right way, you might learn to love your body without even losing 30 pounds. Thick gurls are in, Aint nobody want a bony gurl.

Everyone else has the right idea that taking the pills and starving yourself is not going to work. Instead, use your time more efficiently. When you are with your friends complaining about being heavier than you would like, speed walk with them. Instead of sitting on the internet, pop in a workout video, ride your bike, or rollerblade around the neighborhood. Get active and learn about the benefits of different healthy foods, and the impact of nasty things like soda, sweet tea, and french fries.

Go for a run five time a week... for 3 miles each. You will lose all the extra weight.
