both - creatine adds water to your muscle and makes the look bigger and you can train for longer and helps joints heal.
protein helps the muscle recover quicker which if your serious about training you need to do it ever second day at least and with out protein your muscle cells will just break down so your wasting your time training.
if i had to choose it would be protein
