FIT Test at the Gym for a woman?!

Question: I'm having a "fit" test at the gym as it was recommended to me to keep me focussed on losing weight and getting fit. Its booked in for next Monday and the man who is doing it warned me that it is intrusive and I might like to take another woman in with me.

Now hes got me scared. What is he going to do or say that is intrusive and what do these tests actually entail?

One fit test I had at a gym several years ago could have been classed as intrusive! I had my body fat measured with those callipers - this meant I had to raise my top slightly so that my back & rib area fat could be measured and then lower my trousers (not *that* low, think hipsters), so that my lower abdominal fat could be measured.

They'll probably take your blood pressure too, plus height and weight then get you to do flexibility tests and they may tape measure your bust, waist, hips and each thigh circumferance.

I'd give the gym a call and ask them exactly what is going to happen if you are concerned.

I worked in a gym for 3years in the forces and not one of our fitness test were intrusive, the only thing i can imagine is the questions he may ask could be intrusive, about diet, fitness routines and hobbies, other than that nothing physically intrusive. be careful it does seem a little wierd.

At the guy I was at people didn't do anything they felt uncomfortable doing. There shouldn't be any reason to be scared, it seems that the intrusive thing is to do with questions. Best to take a friend with you though

Ive got lots of friends who go to the gym-ive NEVER heard of a "fit test" - if you DO go- I WOULD take a girlfriend, and a recording device IE mobile phone!!!
