no worries man! i have been working out for about 6 years and i had a hard time gaining muscle for the first 3 years. some people dont produce muscle naturally and have low levels of testosterone making it hard to gain muscle. if you want to you can try a supliment called "glutamine." glutamine is not a steriod (i never recomen steroids to any patient!!!) glutamine stimulates the growth hormones and is used in some hospitals after someone has had an injury to help their muscles and body recover. you just mix it in with your favorite drink and you wont even taste it. you can find it anywhere, even walmart.

steroids

Here's a few ideas:
-Extremely heavy weights, with fewer reps.
-Change the type of exercise you do every 2 weeks.
-Avoid cardio exercise.

Here's a site with a bit more info

Peter Crouch springs 2 mind dude, perhaps it's 2 do with ya 'metabolism' hey?....

Then you are probably not doing the right kind of exercises.
Muscles only grow to meet a new demand. Therefore you need to exercise each muscle group to the point of failure. Then Rest it and Feed it. Then exercise it again to the point of failure - which should be at a higher weight or number of reps at the same weight. (Heavy weight - low reps to gain muscle ---- light weights - high reps to tone and burn fat).

Then they will grow. BUT - some people find it harder to grow than others (the 3 'morph' types) but even so you should see some improvement if you follow the above.

Probably your metabolism, just be patient and things might improve. DO NOT USE STEROIDS

Do you have a trainer? Maybe you aren't doing it right. I saw on TV that like 80% of people who do crunches do them wrong and don't see results. Maybe it's something like that? Or maybe you just don't need to gain muscle.

FORGET THE IDIOTS WHO MENTION STEROIDS OR ANY TYPE OF SUPPLEMENT.

It sounds to me like your somatotype (body shape) may not be the type to build vast quantities of muscle, you may be an ectomorph? Are you tall and lean?

Best to build up your body to its own individual best, rather than trying to convert it to something it is not.

For example, look at bruce lee, he built his body to the best he could ever be, but do you seriously think he could ever have muscles like arnie? And conversely can you imagine arnie being able to do the things Lee could do?
