Why do I still feel so huge????!

Question: Over the last two years I lost 50lbs and went from an 18 to a 10-12. I still feel like a huge cow. I see the size labels on my clothes and I see the scale saying I've dropped from 204 to 151-153.5. I still feel like a huge overweight ball of flab. Why do I still feel like this?

you may be bloaded from too much sodium. i feal like that sometimes. by some new clothes that fit you now, keep doing what yur doing, 50lb is alot of weight however you have to rember that weightloss is like a papertowel. if you pull off 20 sheets off of a 30 sheet roll, your still going to have 10 sheets left on it. you have to unravel them all to get to the cardboard paper part (your sexy body with jawdroping abs in this analogy) however as you will notice when you went from 30 sheets to 20 sheets, you still have alot of paper left on the roll, but as you peel off each sheet, the shape of the inner roll becomes more clear. its the same with bodyfat. if you went from 35% bodyfat to 2 or 25%, you have made a great improvement but will still look heavy until you start geting closer to like 15, then each week or even day you will notice that you are looking better. hope this helps, if you keep up the good work and keep unrolling the thing, youll be there in no time!

maybe you need to see a therapist and ask them the same question before it is too late and you start starving or purging/

please get the help you need

Maybe because you are just used to feeling big. What I think you should do is tone your body and buy clothes that fits your shape, that way you would feel better about yourself. Maybe get a new makeover. You just feel like although the scale has different numbers, you arent a different person. So just freshen up your whole look! Trust, youll feel better.

Well, great job by the way, but you probably feel like this because you're not quite at your goal yet. Keep going until you're a size 4 or 6. That'd be a real achievement. Being a size 10-12 is still overweight depending on your height, but I'd say keep doing what you did to lose all that weight and shoot for a sexy, hot, superstar body : )

The reason being is because your self-esteem was so low when you were overweight, that you need to work on building your self-esteem up. I don't doubt talking with someone would help, not even just a therapist, talk to your family and friends. Go out and buy yourself a cute outfit that you deserve after this weight loss. This was a huge step for you and you should feel proud. This is the time of your life to live it to the fullest and have fun. Congratulations on the weight loss!!

Could it be that your brain has been 'set' by you to believe you are large? Most people feel a gigantic feeling of "I am little!" after dropping so much weight. Are there people/relatives/friends that you are with a lot........who are small and tiny? This could be a problem if they think of you as large. You SHOULD be feeling so attractive and small ! Allow yourself to do this! You are beautiful! You weren't sure you could drop that much weight, but you did it! Believe in yourself, and if you have a lying mirror (I have a lying mirror, says I am fat when I wear a size 1), pay attention to your clothing sizes, not the mirror or the weight scale. It is the new you, and you have every right to be so proud!!!!! High congratulations!!!

I am the same way too. I lost a lot of weight and still felt big.

I think the reason was because I wasn't to the size I wanted. I wanted to lose more pounds and no matter how much I lost I still felt big because I would compare myself to others.

have you ever heard of a condtion that you still see a women that was 200lbs still. It is the first warning sign of a eating disorder befroe it takes root. I was 198 lbs and then was 150 then 130 then 110 then got to 90lbs and still kept thinking i was 198lbs. I ended up in a hosptial for weeks and had seen councling bc of it.
