Question: is it ok to cheat on my diet once a day? or should it be more like once a week?

it depends on what you mean by cheat. if your binging on junk food that doubles the amount of diet food your eating then yes its bad. It also depends if your depriving yourself too much. It is always a good idea to give your self a taste, not a plate of 'cheat' food. Because for some people, cold turkey is too harsh. I recommend that you first think about your diet, make sure it is well rounded. Second, when you want to cheat, think why do i want this? Is it worth it? and if you say yes, then let yourself have a taste, that's it. It will also help not to have your junk cheat foods in the house. Good Luck!
:D

once a week if you want to loose weight unless your talking about a hersheys kiss or something once a day is fine. i would incorporate one cheat meal spontaneously to treat yourself. for instance if you dont want one for a couple of weeks, fine dont do it, but if your at the fair and you really really want a funnel cake, go ahead and treat yourself it wont hurt your weight loss. just dont eat 2 of them or have another cheat meal the next day

I cheat a lil each day. But it helps to have http://www.sparkpeople.com/ as a place where I can track what I am eating to make sure that my splurges arn't ruining all of my hard work.

diets dont work. its like a rule. just tell yourself you have to do it no questions ask. its called discipline.

That is an age old question that seems to be a problem for most dieters....I know it is a problem of mine. Once a day is probably too often unless you are staying within the right calorie range. I would shoot for once a week.

Try eating things that you like but are low in calories. For example I like strawberries and they actually burn more calories than they contain. There are other fruits and vegetables that do the same. Check out the link below.
