Just how accurate is the BODYBUGG calorie counter?!

Question: http://www.bodybugg.com/

Can it really tell accurately how many calories one burns during work outs and normal activities..how can it do this?? Has there been real scientific studies to show its accurate?
I dont trust the readings on regular GYM equipment either when it says I burned only 125 calories after 30 min run..how will u lose weight bcus u gotta eat more than that every day sheesh?:(

The gym equipment is probably calculating the calories burnt for a man on a 2000cal/day diet. It's probably also counting your normal calorie burn aswell (i.e. the calories you burn all the time to stay alive) plus the exercise as well.

In my (limited) experience lifting free weights, whatever I count the calorie burn as, it makes no difference. If I pretend like I don't burn any extra calories lifting, and eat the usual amount of calories, I lose weight easy. If I eat 100-200 more calories for a 30-60min lifting session, the weight loss slows down to nil.

Of course, that's me, but I'm pretty skeptical about all the exercise calorie burn counts too.
