Do you have to use exact points for weight watchers to work?!

Question: I just started weight watchers, and i am supposed to have 24 points a day. Do you have to use those exact points? what if you dont use them all... will that affect the outcome? Any advise, please, thanks.

You don't have to use them all just eat below what the points are you will be good to go

If you skip your "free points," or "bonus points," or whatever they now call the extras you're allowed, it's not a big deal, as long as you don't feel extra-hungry and binge later.

If, however, you skip your points associated with milk, minimum carbs, proteins, fruit, and vegetables, then you are skimping on your nutritional needs. You then will lose either water weight or muscle weight and not fat, and your "weight loss" will be temporary (because your body will add the muscle or fluids back as soon as the deficit is over), and you will have screwed with your metalbolism by making your body think there's a shortage of nutritional foods (your brain can't see, so it just knows what "is" and if if what "is" is interpreted by the brain to be a shortage of nutrional foods, then it assumes there's a famine!) and your body responds by burning fewer calories, and now you have to eat even less to lose fat--possibly for the rest of your life. (This is why so-called starvation diets don't work--they trick your body into thinking that there's a famine, so the brain re-sets the way the body uses calories in a way that conserves rather than burns calories.)

WW works because it provides for your nutritional needs while reducing your excess of calories. Follow the plan.

If you don't want to follow the plan, why would you join?
