Should I take my protein supplements before, durning or after my workout, or doe!

Question: It matters a little, right after is best, but mix in some carbs so your body uses the carbs for energy and your muscles absorb the protein.

here is how I take my protein in
morning-lots of protein, body has just fasted for 8 hours, so it needs it! (usually eggs though, 4 egg whites and 2 whole eggs, hardboilded for ease with wholewheat toast and peanut butter)
lunch- tuna sandwich, tuna is a GREAT source of protein or if I do anything else, i have an afternoon protein shake
protein shake after lifting while doing my light cardio

so to finally make my most important point, your body digest most sources of protein in 4 hours, so every 4 hours, you need more protein. sometimes if I work out earlier in the day, i will have a protein shake before bed (eating before bed is not that bad of a thing, gorging is, but if you eat dinner at 6 pm and then nothing till breakfast at 6 am (for example) thats 12 hours of no food! thats not good for you!

so every 4 hours try to take in protein

(my buddy, an armature bodybuilder wakes up at night and takes protein, it is that important to him, but honestly, i wouldn't recommend that)

wow I wrote a lot, good luck!

After.

its best to take your protein shake after your workout. because that is when your body needs it the most. try also having some tuna or something light to go with your shake...hope that helps

BETTER IF YOU TAKE IT BEFORE AND AFTER

you can take it 30 min.before and after but best if taken 30- 45 minutes after because thats when your muscles are growing after the workout!
