Probably ten to twenty, no more.

Your genes are programmed to build you to a specific height and weight. You can go about twenty pounds over or under that, but beyond that is really difficult. If you diet, you will lose weight, but only until your metabolism adjusts to use energy more efficiently - then your weight will start to creep back up, even if you're still on a diet.

mmm about 20 lbs or so. and with all do respect it depends on ur age. my doctor told me that ppl under 25 loseweight quicker because the fat inside us hasnt really.. mmm settled in yet.

Well if you are doing a good 30-40 minute round of exercise a day, then quite a lot. It depends what those 1500 calories consist of though. It also depends on your body.
Just eat healthy and exercise. It will come off...

I wish it were THAT simple to figure out! Alot's going to depend on YOUR metabolism... IF you can continue to keep your exercising UP & your calorie intake DOWN, you should lose from 15 to 20 pounds by the end of June (the beginning of Summer). Good luck! :)

You'll probably lose a bunch of weight quick, but your body is very adaptive and will soon adjust your metabolism to the amount of calories you intake.

There are 3500 calories in a pound of fat, so if you eat 1500 less calories a day, then you should burn off one pound of fat every 2.5 days. Well, if you did this for 2 years, would you burn off 250 pounds? What if you only weighed 150 pounds to begin with? Will you weigh -100 pounds? Of course not.

The best way to lose weight that not many people know about is to cycle your calorie drops. Try to find out what your maintenance level is, say 2800 calories. Then go 2-3 days where you cut your calories to 1800-2200. Then go 2 days where you are back at 2800. This will help ensure that your metabolism doesn't slow down while still creating a calorie deficet.

You don't want to cut too much calories per day because your body will think it's going into starvation mode. When that happens, you burn less calories per day, your body will burn off muscle for energy, and you will also store more of what you eat as fat. It's simply your body trying to make sure that you stay alive. Unfortunately, our body has not developed a response to burn extra calories when we eat too much.

Doing this slowly will take longer, but nobody said getting in shape would be easy. You can try all the shortcuts you want, but you'll only end up back in the same boat. Being in shape is a lifestyle...it's not something you do for 2-4 months, then go back to being lazy. Don't expect permanent results if you're not willing to put in permanent effort.

Good Luck

Your answer is going to depend on your current weight, height, and age. You need to first calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate, this is the rate at which your body burns calories "at rest". There are many calculators online with which to calculate this, simply google it.
Once you have your BMR, understand that this is the caloric intake that will keep your body at the same weight, if you were to eat that many calories every day for 1 week.
To lose weight, you must lower your caloric intake by 500 calories per day for an entire week, to lose 1 pound. Inversely, to gain weight, you must raise your caloric intake by 500 over your BMR every day for an entire week, to gain 1 pound.
This is the calculation you must make to decide where you want to be by just cutting calories.

Every bit of exercise you perform will modify your caloric intake, of course. So your next step would be to calculate the approximate calories-per-day you burn while performing non-sedentary activities.

Once you come up with your BMR and an approximate daily caloric burn. You can then see how many pounds you can expect to lose.

Cutting calories, and not leading an active lifestyle, while effective for the obese, will plateau, you will eventually reach a point where you could not feasibly cut calories to lower your caloric intake to a point where you would lose any weight.

You are taking a great step in making the commitment to lowering your daily caloric intake, why not commit to an additional activity to lower that even further?

Remember that crash diets (fad-diets) rob your body of needed and beneficial nutrients. While effectively lowering your numbers on the scale, your weight loss in the cases of most of these diets are not fat weight, but lean muscle mass. Leaving you a flabby, weak skeleton of your possible self.

In summary, calculate your BMR and add your approximate daily caloric burn, subtract your daily caloric intake from this and ensure you are creating a deficit of at least 500 calories, continue this for 7 days to lose 1 pound. While doing this, perform cardio and resistance workouts to lower body fat and increase muscle mass.

Enjoy!
