If you want a very defined abs, you have to do lower and upper ab exercises.

That 'diet' is terrible you will slow down your metabolism, lose muscle, feel like crap. don't do it

regular situps work more of your upper abs. for your lower abs, as you come up twist and tap your elbow to the opposite knee. I am pretty sure that works more of your lower abs. A good way to work pecs are the lat pull down when you pull down the bar behind your head and down to your shoulders. Once again, good luck with your exercising!

Are you trying to tone your abs or lose weight?

Sit-ups are useful for both. I would recommend a variety though - have a stock of say, 8 exercises and swap every couple of weeks, doing a couple a week. It'll stop boredom.

Jack-knife sit-ups, where you bring your right elbow to your left knee and vice-versa, are good as they work all the separate ab areas.
