Why drink raw eggs?!


Question: I see people in movies (athletes) drink raw eggs. What is up with that. No Carbs or Protein answers please. I want to know WHY they do that.

its just a really easy way of getting that protein in their system quickly. Its actually really safe so long as you wash the outside of the egg before cracking it. I put raw eggs in my protein shake every morning.

because there re proteins in egg whjite and fats and vitamins in e3gg yolk. it is like the while meal in one egg. but u shouldn't drink raw eggs if u re buying them from store - risk of salmonella is very very high. u may drink raw eggs only if u get them from your own chicken which u check for salmonella and which are extremely cleanly kept.

Firstly, it's usually in movies that you will see that. You probably do not want to drink raw eggs due to sanitation purposes.

But to answer your question, usually when you consume anything RAW, you are consuming the food in a denatured state, which provide more nutrients and proteins, etc...

When food are cooked, a lot of nutrients are taken away and now you're eating partially useless calories. So logically, a person working out is very strict when it comes to what type of calories they are consuming and are there any useless calories they could eliminate.

Its quite simple, they are pretty lazy to boil the egg, and more over after a certain period of time they get so used to having it raw and start liking its taste pretty much. I am sure even if they go to any restaurants they would order for only half baked eggs since they do not give a raw egg. :-)

Don't drink raw eggs! unless salmonella and bacteria are your thing. Besides... the bio-availablity (thats the percentage of what your body uses of what you ingest) of protein in a cooked egg are twice as much as a raw one!!! I don't know where the other people answering this question are getting their info... maybe from TV!? So there's absolutely no reason to expose your self to this nonsense!.....If you want a correct answer don't say in the question not to provide essential points... protein is the answer!!!!

*disclaimer* this is purely conjecture: they are trying to build muscle, right, and you need a protein-rich diet in addition to lots of exercise for that. so i guess they eat lots of meat and drink egg whites for extra protein - you cant eat all the time.. also they say the more you cook something the more nutrients you lose..sorry i know you didnt want protein answers but i dont think this question can be answered without bringing up protein - i seriously doubt they drink em cuz they like the taste...
