How can i support somone who is trying to lose weight?!

Question: my mother talks about losing weight and exercising, and eating healthier, and exercises once a week at most. Im not sure how to support her or encourage her, without nagging, when i do ask her if she wants to use the treadmill, she says shes too tired, i know she felt MUCH better physically and mentally when she was at a healthy weight range, and i want to encourage her in a way that doesnt overwhelm or discourage her, i know she wants to make change through the small things she is doing, any suggestions?

If you live near by, join her! Go to the gym together or take walks. She will like spending time with you as well as taking the first steps to being healthier. I did the same with my dad, strated by just playing basketball in the driveway together and then some gym time as well. A lot of people just need help getting started, and a gym buddy is great idea.

give her some books about heath tips.

why not ask her to join you for a walk each day. cook healthy meals together. maybe ask her to go swimming with you?

Maybe you could find out if your local gym has classes and go take one with her. A lot of times they let you try it out for free. Also, try a new recipe that's low fat and cook for her. Giada has a really good recipe for Pasta Primavera on foodtv.com

Your mom's lack of energy and lack of motivation themselves could be diet related, I would suggest that you help your mom get on a diet supplemental program, one that is going to give her energy and yet also provide her with the vitamines and nutrients that her body needs. I personally love Herbalife, I have used it and lost over 65 lbs and have kept it off for over 2 years now. Once she sees herself losing some weight and having more energy then it will only take small encouragements to get her excersise and maintain her program. Hope this helps Best of luck.
