Scared.. :(?!


Question: ok im OBSESSED with counting calories :(. ive only eaten 734 cals today. yet i feel like a ft pig :(. im not anoreixic bcause im not underwiehgt or anything. im 12 , 5ft5" and im 125 lbs.! I feel horrible and fat when i eat more than 1200 cals :(. and i plan my meals before going to bed. i do about 60 crunches a dya to burn off some of my calories. and i run on the spot for aobut 10 mins a day and do about 100 star jumps a day. could i become anorexic form this? :( .. i dont seem to be loosing anyweight if i am gnnabe come anoreexic :s. I started all this stuff before xmas.. and got down to 118 lbs. then it went back up.. ewhy7 was this?

First of all, at 12 years old you should not be trying to lose weight, unless you are obese, which you are not. Your body is still growing, which may explain your weight loss, then gain. More likely, 125 is a healthier weight for your height than 118.

Secondly, your calorie goals are much too low at the moment. You could do serious harm to your metabolism, making it very difficult to maintain a healthy weight as an adult. To maintain your healthy weight (based on your age and height) you need about 1850 calories a day. Of course, these calories should mostly come from foods like fruits, veggies, and whole grains.

Sometimes weight loss goals are more about control over your life and body than about your appearance. This is true for all ages of people. It might help you to talk to someone about how you feel--a parent, health teacher, school counsler, or other trusted adult.

The good news is, there is nothing wrong with the amount of exercise you are doing. It's great for your heart and bones. Keep it up.

spread your food over a day and eat small portions but dont be anorexic cause you already know thats not good for you. 115 to 125 is good for 5.5

honey, ur only 12. ur metabolism can definitely handle the calories ur giving it. ESPECIALLY since ur working out all the time. relax! =)

You need help hunni, your heading down a seriously bad road, at your age you should not need to worry about diet unless you were seriously overweight, also your body needs more calories in order for you to grow. Talk to your mum!

you need to talk to someone about this obsession. you need to eat at least 1200 to stay healthy. if you don't eat enough protein, your body will use muscle tissue as fuel and you could have heart damage. I think you are anorexic, even though you are a healthy weight. the others didn't start out being that skinny, they slowly get there by acting like you are right now. please talk to someone and get counseling!

hey not trying to me mean but im 16 and i am a girl, i have the same problem, im 5'2 and weigh 140 , but alot of its muscle from running, but hey your ONLY 12, and your STILL GROWING!!! and you know what who are you trying to impress ,i use to do the same thing, watching calories and what not, but i started to think why am i going to be hurting myself to please others , so now i dont care what others think, look all you have to do is love who you are, that means physically, mentally, and emotionally, trust me, and if you want to talk about it some more you can email me, trust me i was there before, im 16 now and i have learned, okay, hope you take my advice and email if you like okay

You're killing yourself before you've even developed at the end of the day there are good and bad calories same as good and bad food.You loose weight in this order on diets
water
muscle
fat
