Weight Loss Q's: Protein, Meals, and General?!

Question: Hey im 16 and overweight and I want to know answers to my questions:

What Protein shake would be the best (name them)?
Can I have it for lunch?
What would be the best breakfast?
I am going to be getting a Bowflex machine, and i have a treadmill. I plan on running and working out.

Would I be able to replace lunch and dinner with protein shakes?

of course i will be eating little heatly stuff hear and there.
and maintaining food and water.

Thanks

instead of just drinking protien shakes, which doesnt taste that good and doesnt keep you full for a long time, look to replace your meals with small portions of nutrition packed meals/snacks through out the day. stuff like 6 oz baked chicken breast w/ veggies, a hand full of almonds, a bowl of oatmeal w/ a scoop of whey protein, couple of hard boiled eggs, and ect. then chug a protein shake right after you workout.

loosing weights not that easy, visit menshealth.com for lots of useful info about diets and workouts you can do.

Im sixteen as well, and also overweight. Although im not a fitness instructor or anything, I do know that substituting a Protein shake for meals would not be a very healthy substitute. There is no better diet than a healthy balenced one. I know that as a teenager i have a problem overeating and eating bad foods, so if this is true for you as well you might work on that.

Don't bother with the protein shakes. Just eat healthy - take a look at the food pyramid for meal options. A girl who is 5'5" and weighs 140 pounds needs only 49 grams of protein a day. Intaking more won't have any positive effects. Besides, you need ALL nutrients for your body to function properly so you need a diverse diet. Nutritionists recommend the following:

Adequacy
Balance
Calorie Control
Moderation
Variety
