Drinking water is too bland?!


Question: I have a really bad soda addiction. I will stop drinking it for months and will take one little sip and I am hooked! I gain so much weight and feel so bloated from it.

I am back onto water but whenever I get the urge to drink soda I drink juice (which is just as bad for you). I recently started drinking those crystal light packets but heard that the fake sugar messes up your brain so I stopped. Anybody have any alternatives to water?
I love water but I need something with some flavor I could maybe add to my water or drink instead of water that will kick my soda cravings. Orange juice, v8 juice and all of that has way too many calories (170 calories in a 12oz bottle of oj!!)

Try putting fresh fruit juice (like, the juice squeezed from an actual piece of fruit) in your water, the fresh fruit juice will actually be good for you!
I put lemon or lime juice in mine..it makes it taste better.

Try carbonated water too. I loove it. It has a bite, and that carbonated feeling of pop. It's a great alternative when you want to switch it up a little.

Flavored water is also a good choice!! It tastes good, and can be actually good for you! I'm not sure on sugar content or calories or whatever..but it probably depends on the brand. (Actually, you really should try it, you're still getting water, and you're getting flavor)

Don't put sugar in your water. lol then you're still getting the sugar that's in the pop that you don't want!

I completely agree with you, everything you say. My advice to you is this:

1. Make sure you drink water when it's ice cold if possible. I love the way it tastes when its that cold.
2. When I was really poor and couldn't afford to buy soda on certain days, I instead used sugar packets with tap water and when cold, it tastes pretty good. Of course, the amount of sugar you'd like will probably differ from with me.

If you like method #2, you could just carry sugar packets with you or request them at the store. More than likely, a store that sells bottles of water will also sell coffee, and with coffee they need sugar. Hope this helps.

OMGGGGG!!!! I HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM & i have no idea what to doooo!!! i drink soda just about everyday!!...i can't answer the question or i wouldnt have the problem haha but if u get some good answers...please email some or the best one to mandav90@yahoo.com =) thanks

put some sugar free gum in the bottom of your water and it will change to flavour...

Sorry water is a must that is all I will say on the matter.

Orange juice is loaded with sugar forget it and ve8 stuff never mind that stuff either, stick to water and you will get used to the flavour.

lol, gee you sounds like my friend. she hates drinking water.
well anyway i have two suggestions,
1. drink lemon flavored mineral
2. add diet cordial... but that might be just as bad

Put a couple of twists of lemon rind in a large jug of water and drink it when very cold. No sugar required and a pleasant change from plain water.

Totally found the cure when your craving something sweet but has no calories or sodium. The only kind I have found that I really like and is not overdone, but defintely quenches your thirst plus is actually just water, The Brand is "Nestle" naturally flavored water. The available flavors right now at Walmart are: Fruit Splash, Strawberry Kewi, Orange Spash. I know that is not very many but they are GREAT!! I like them a lot better than all the other brands. They run $2.18 for a 6 pack. I am addicted to them and your body will thankyou. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem, and I have a kidney problem, so drinking water is very essential for me, but I just don't like the way it tastes, its too bland.

I buy the lemon flavor Propel. Tastes just like lemonade. They have like 15 flavors, and only 25 calories each. Im obsessed with it, its sooo good!
