How much weight would you lose if you only ate 1 meal a day, for 2 weeks?!

Question: What would be the down sides to this diet for 2 weeks....?
The meal would be in the evening, 5pm, and would consist of chicken/veg/meat/cous-cous.
Obviously the portion would not be too big.
Would i be able to lose 6 lbs in 2 weeks?
I dont eat too much now, and dont weigh too much either, but just need to lose a little bit of weight.

It's not the amount of calories you take in but when and how you take them in. Eating once a day initially will make you lose weight but most of it is water. As soon as you stop eating that way it will come back.
Dieticians and Doctors have long since discovered that eating little and often is far more likely to not only make you lose weight, but make it easier to stay at the weight your body needs to be. Naturally thin people tend to eat this way.
They have a faster metabolism not by some magic piece of 'luck' but because they make it work. It takes as many calories or more to digest the food than the number the food provides. If your busy walking around and doing other things then you're also using calories and so the body has to use the energy from the fat stored.
Everyone has an ideal weight based on height and bone structure and if you don't weigh too much why are you trying to lose any at all?

thats not very healthy and could do more harm thatn good

sod the weight...just think of the money youd save!

I think you need to speak to your doctor about this. Go and check that you arent underweight an that you are getting adequate nutrients per day.

eat oatmeal
it has oats/wheat
in it wich is in the food piramid
also eat with milk for calcium
its healthy
and i love it!!!

well first of all you should eat breakfast because that starts up ur metabolism in the morning if you dont eat breakfast you tend to gain weight so maybe 2 meals a day a breakfast and a dinner....but in reality i noticed that if i ate like 5 small meals a day i lose more weight then eating less so i suggest you eat 5 small meals and work out itll do more work then eating one meal a day because the 5 meals gets your metabolism working really fast so it burns more fat

not exactly. this is a easy way to go into starvation mode. you have the right idea of portions and healthy foods but your body needs energy from food throughout the day. Energy for metabolism. Metabolism causes weight loss. I would reccomend eating smaller low calorie(200-300) meals throughout the day. This would be more efficent than eating just one meal a day.

OK, starvation NEVER works. You'll lose weight, but end up doing serious damage to your body and brain. I think the funniest part is that you'll end up gaining back double the weight you lose within a few months. Don't do it. A regular 3 meals a day with exercise a couple days a week can make you lose weight and keep it off. 6 pounds is nothing. Most people who start dieting and exercising for the first time lose 10-20 pounds in the first week. Six pounds is hardly anything, you can lose in two weeks. But starvation is not the cure. There is a more underline issue here than 6 pounds.

For a women to maintain weight with no excerise = 2000 calories. Anything less than that = weight loss. However about 3400 calories = one pound in weight. So a deficit of 500 calories over 14 days = 7000 which will about 2 pound.

If you have been eating regular your body may panic and store fat because you are depriving it of regular meals.

Eat small meals 6 times a day, your body will lose more fat that way. Instead of starving or fasting jog for 30 minutes that is 450 calories there!

You will suffer from loss of nutrients which could possibly affect you in the long run.

There is no need to go to this measure to lose a bit of weight.

I'm sure you will be able to lose that amount in that period on the diet you mentioned but it could make you prone to putting it back on afterwards so there'd be no point!

I can provide you with a diet plan, a healthier way to lose those extra pounds. You could consider that before you went to such extreme measures?

if you start to eat properly afterwards the weight will go straight back on because your body is used to 3 meals a day cutting down to onewill send your body into survival mode and will store all the fat, where as if you eat 3 small portions a day your body recognises the regular meals and so has no reason to store al the fat,
