What is a good workout that won't wear out your joints as much?!


Question: I want my body to last me throughout old age. I heard that running is hard on your joints. What about walking and swimming? I've been walking around our neighborhood and the park, I'd like to give swimming a try. Are these a good way to lose weight and to not wear out your body as fast?

THE best exercise I've ever heard about as far as easy on your joints IS swimming which you mention. I have a bad foot and cannot run anymore. But I swim constantly. AND swimming utilizes more muscle groups than any other exercise/sport. Another great one is biking. Another low impact sport and good for your cardio. I prefer swimming.

Sex is a good calorie burner and easy on the joints.

Swimming is GREAT for you joints, back, cardio-vascular system, and all around muscular fitness.

Speed walking is low impact so it is good for the joints, calves/calfs, and cardio vascular system.

swimming is great, walking is pretty good, bike riding is also a good one. you could do the eliptical machine too.

anything without hard pounding on your body is a good one.
