Do massive chest workouts (e.g. bench presses) makes your abs to grow fat or sha!

Question: I'm 23 &I love to do chest workouts (specially compound ones) as it is already giving me a defined chest within 3 months of joining the gym. But it is also making my belly to grow fat day by day. Do I need to stop chest workouts and spend more time on abs? Will it (e.g. seat ups) affects my chest??

It doesn't make your abs different, your just not toning them a lot. I know a lot of great ab exercises that will take about 5 minutes, I'll give you the names and you can look them up, one is called the plank pose the other is sculling crunches which will be harder to find because they are really just used in rowing. First you need to be in the sitting position on the ground, then you lift your legs about a foot off the ground and lean back. The balance is hard a first but gets easier. Then stick your arms straight out to the sides, as you pull in your legs, pull your arms into your chest and extend your legs coming back to the first position each time you do this counts as one. About 30 of those and 1 minute of plank pose on both sides and front should take about 5 minutes and you can still focus on your chest.

Of course not. One has nothing to do with the other, they are two completely seperate muscle groups.

Make sure You do cardio to keep the fat off and you should keep a flat stomach.

I have the feeling the abdomen problem may be due to poor eating habits (unhealthy eating). Added muscle mass anywhere is good for meabolism, And metabolism helps reduce fat in all parts of the body. I believe that doing bench presses also flexes the ab muscles, too, right?. Recommendation: Keep an honest journal (WalMart sells these, or Barnes & Noble) of what you eat to show you where the abdomen problem is coming from.

Hope this helps.
