Why is it bad to consume all of your daily calories in one sitting?!

Question: Because it throws your metabolism off. Eating several meals a day means your body is constantly processing small amounts of food and it keeps your blood sugar and other chemicals in balance and your metabolism high.

If you eat it all at once, your body gears up to process all that food at once, but once it's done your blood sugar will crash from being overloaded, your blood chemicals will be off, your blood supply will be majorly diverted to your intestines, and you'll feel worse both right after eating and later when your body is craving more (due to the drop in blood sugar).

Hope that makes sense!

You're overloading your body, it can't burn them off all at once, so the other will just be stored as fat.

If you eat all of your calories in one sitting you don't have any left for the rest of the day. Does this mean that you aren't going to eat for the rest of the day? If you only eat once a day you will put your body into a hibernation. Your metabolism will slow down because it will feel the need to "store" those calories for later in the day... stored calories turn into fat.

I personally am a calorie counter. And I'm stingy with my calories. I don't like wasting them on something that I had a fleeting craving for and I like to save them for my big meal of the day. However, I also love to eat. So, I have compromised with myself. I eat all day long to keep my metabolism up, I allow myself about 200 calories for breakfast, 300 calories for lunch, 200 calories for snacks throughout the day (fruit, nuts or 100 calorie packs) and then 500 calories for dinner.
