I have just lost 9lbs in 3 weeks my husband thinks this is unhealthy weight loss!

Question: I have not been eating any chocs or junk, just three meals a day and no food after 6pm. Is this too rapid a weight loss?

Eventually you will plateau with the weight loss. 3 meals a day is not enough. 5 SMALL meals boost your metabolism.

Also, by cutting out junk food, you significantly reduced your caloric intake. If you workout 3 days a week, every other day, it will help you out even more.

Keep on truckin' and drive yourself to reach your goal.

Good BMI also

No not unhealth. You always lose alot of weight the first couple weeks. You are getting rid of water

Two pounds a week is the usually acceptable amount - but if you have a lot to lose, a loss of 4 or 5lbs in the first week is not unusual. So I would say no - you're doing fine.

god you are lucky lol email me your meal plan please!!! i wish i could do that!!!! lol

Each person has a different time line for loosing weight. It's normal.

As long as you're eating your meals - which it seems as though you are then its perfectly ok.

At the beginning you'll lose the most weight the quickest then you'll find it will slowly decline and you'll average 1-2 lb a week instead of 3.

2 - 3 lbs a week is healthy - i have just started to loose weight not by deiting but by just eating healthily and controlling my portion size and snakcing on fruit instead of crisps - i have lost 2lb this week which my personal trainer says is ideal

no it fine what else have you been doing?

No it sounds perfectly normal to me, but its nice that he's concerned! Tell him not to worry, and well done!

its perfect maybe he just liked the old weight because its all going from your chest.

It really just depends on your body. The more you weight the faster it will come off. I am sure the 9 pounds is water weight. If you weighed over 200 pounds then that may not have been unhealthy because you are heavier than a 130 pound person doing the same things you are doing. Everyones body is different, no one but maybe your doctor can tell you what is right for your body. EVERY body is different

no, its not unhealthy. actually, with diet and excercise, the normal rate of weight loss is 3-5 lbs per week. so you are perfectly normal. congrats though on losing it! good job!

The weight loss is not that unusual. However, if you lose another 9 lbs. in the next three weeks you should consult a professional.

not at all. well done what is your secret lol

Congratulations that is healthy weight loss approx 1kilo a week is very good don't worry about it.
Is your husband jealous ?

Losing 1-3 pounds per week is considered healthy weight loss. Looks to me like you've been in this range, and that you've been doing it in a healthy way. If you have been skipping meals, exercising excessively, eating below your recommended caloric intake (ex. if you're eating only 500-800 calories per day this isn't good) or abusing laxatives this is all unhealthy weight loss. Since you didn't say your height and weight, your husband's concerns might be because he thinks you're at a healthy weight already and don't need to lose more. Or even if you are overweight he might like the way you look. These are things you should talk to him about. To help decide if you are a healthy weight look up your BMI. And make sure you get enough vitamins and nutrients from your diet.

Absolutely not If you are eating three healthy meals a day, how can that be bad. Your metabolism was probably suffering big time until you allowed it to normalize due to your new diet.

seems like you have been dieting the right way, by eating healthy, cutting on all junk.
i personally think that 9lbs in 3 weeks is fine.
everyone s body is different, metabolism rate varies from a person to an other.
so don't worry and enjoy your new weight.

Your weight loss is absolutely spot on. If you lose, too much, to quickly you will put it back on again in no time.

Unfortunately, junk foods are high in refined sugar and full of saturated fat. These pile on the pounds. So you are right to cut these out in order to give you a good start. But as time goes on excess weight becomes harder to shift. Therefore, exercise is a great way to start to lose those stubborn pounds.

Try eating plenty of wholefoods. Such as brown bread, brown rice, brown pasta, beans & pulses. These are full of fibre and will keep you feeling fuller for longer.

Snack on fresh fruit in between meals if you feel hungry. Drinking plenty of water helps too.

I keep junk foods, ready made processed meals, alcohol and takeaway foods to an absolute minimum.

14 months ago I managed to lose 48lbs in just over 6 months. I have managed with ease to maintain my weight. I only have junk foods etc, in MODERATION. I also exercise on a regular basis too. I know that this helps to maintain my weight.

I joined a gym. This really helped accelerate my weight loss, as I started to find it really difficult to lose weight. The more you move the better.

I had a bmi of 27. I now have a bmi of 21.

The challenge really begins once you have lost the weight. In order to keep it off you have to carry on eating healthy. That's why diets just don't work. Because as soon as most people lose the weight they start to eat as they were before. Unfortunately, they find that all the weight piles back on again. Exercise will help you to maintain the weight.

Good luck to you. Look after yourself.
