I really want to lose weight. here's my workout routine. what do u think? 10!


Question: hey, so i'm 17/f/5'2" and 140pounds. my goal is to get more toned and lose about 10-15pounds by May 1st (going on a trip). i have a tredmill and my family just bought a weight set. (ProSpotFitness) where theres various arm and leg exericises along with benching. (they say there's like 100 diff things, lol) my workout is:

warmup: 1mile jog at 5mph
workout: 1 hr on weight set
cool down: 1/4 mile walk at 3mph, 5.0 incline. stretching for 10mins.

i did this just this morning. it took a while longer than i expected (1hr 40mins) because i'm still getting use to the thing :P i didnt go real hard or real slow either, just kinda in the middle, but i figured i'd go faster once i learned how to use everything properly. on a scale from 1-10, how is my workout? (and yes, my diet is healthy)

Ok now for starters don't listen to courtney, you will not bulk up by just lifting some weights and lifting weights will help your body burn fat faster, and will make your body more resiliant to putting that fat back on afterwards. All I can say here is take it up a notch on the intensity. Go as hard as you can man! You can also try doing interval training on your treadmill. Interval training jacks your metabolism way up. Interval training means you go really hard breifly and then not so hard for a bit, for example I run for 30 minutes, but I alternate between sprinting for 30 seconds and running for 1 minute, back and forth for 30 minutes. Interval training is much more useful than sustained running.

an hour on the weight set is WAYYY to long for someone who is trying to loose weight. start with only 20 minutes on the weight set, and increase it once you loose about 10 pounds.

Sounds good cardio wise, just curious why weights? You will only bulk up under the fat. Once you hit your goal weight you should think about lifting if you want to tone up.. Just make sure to follow a low-calorie diet. Never overwork yourself if you become dizzy or faint you're doing too much.

ur workout sounds great. but do u want a workout hat will take u only 50 mins?? go to www.thefirmdirect.com go to the bottom right corner and click on "top sellers" find the video leabled totaly body time crunch. its only 50 mins, and it has leg work, abs, weights, cardio, arms, basically everything!! it really works! u can also buy it at Best Buy. oh and dont do weights everyday, ur muscles need time to rest after a weight session! GOOD LUCK
