What are some transfatted food?!

Question: food that causes heart disease

Answers: food that causes heart disease

Trans fat, anything that is hydrogenated. Hydrogenation causes fats to go into their "trans" form. (Hydrogenation also makes fats more saturated, which is the point. Saturated means they can be more spreadable, more solid, etc.)

Margarine is vegetable oil that has been hydrogenated, so it is trans fats (look at the ingredients).

Someone said beef, dairy, eggs, etc.. that is this natural trans fats deal, they are different (i'm not clear on how) but they are such a s mall amount. In europe they don't hydrogenate oils so the trans fats they DO eat come from eggs and dairy and such. they eat a lot less trans fats than us.

Other things hydrogenated.. used to be crackers and pastries and such but they tried to take the oils out of there (saturated oil makes things flakier and last longer on the shelf)

look on ingredients label

Oils (Crisco), Meat (Beef), Dairy Products/other animal products (butter)

extra butter microwave popcorn
McDonald's burgers and french fries
some brands of margarine maybe Gold N' Soft

Pretty much any fastfood. Many cookies have it, and most chips have small amounts.
